Monthly meeting and public astronomy lecture

September 1 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us at our next monthly club meeting at the Boxford Community Center. A short business meeting will proceed the evening’s astronomical presentation starting around 7:45.

“Navigating the Cosmos”

It can take a lifetime to effectively navigate the currents, waves, winds, and shoals of the North Shore. It is another thing altogether to navigate our planet, galaxy, and universe. Bill Waller, will take us on a cosmic journey — from Rockport’s Front Beach into the Solar System, Milky Way and beyond. Along the way, he will show how astronomers reckon distances and sizes of myriad celestial wonders.

Bill is a former NASA astrophysicist and professor of astronomy. He currently teaches physical sciences in his hometown high school, writes popular books on astronomy, and co-edits The Galactic Inquirer — a free online journal on all manner of astronomical topics (see http://galacticinquirer.net/).
