The Merrimack College Mendel Observatory


Observatory Status:

Observatory Status for Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

We will be opening tonight at 8:00pm. Visible early will be the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn. As it gets darker, deep sky objects will appear including Globular clusters, double stars, and star remnants.

Normally we are  open from 7:30 (or twilight whichever is later) – 10PM every CLEAR Wednesday night year round, weather permitting. The observatory is free and open to the general public.

Conveniently located on Rt. 114 off of 495 in North Andover, you can’t miss the building with the observatory on the roof! Park at the south end of the building and proceed to the fourth floor where the observatory is located. Public Observing is held every clear Wednesday night  This event is free and open to all ages. Special events for the membership and the general public are announced in the Celestial Observer.
