Observatory Status:

Observatory Status updated 10 AM Jan 22, 2020.

  • It is expected to be clear tonight so we’ll open the observatory at 7:30PM. Uranus will be the only planet visible tonight, but we have an assortment of clusters, nebula, and galaxies to show you. It will be very cold in the dome, please prepare accordingly. (Please no light up shoes)

Normally we are  open from 7:30 (or twilight whichever is later, early spring and late summer this is around 8PM, in May & July around 8:30PM, June 9PM) – 10PM every CLEAR Wednesday, weather permitting. The observatory is free and open to the general public.

 

Visit: Directions
Conveniently located on Rt. 114 off of 495 in North Andover, you can’t miss the building with the observatory on the roof! Park at the south end of the building and proceed to the fourth floor where the observatory is located. Public Observing is held every clear Wednesday night  This event is free and open to all ages. Special events for the membership and the general public are announced in the Celestial Observer.
