Minutes of the NSAAC Business Meeting November 1, 2019

President Deneen called the November Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:30 PM. There were 4 board members present and 9 club members. There was one guest, Julie Scott Brown. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

The minutes of the October business meeting were approved by acclamation.

Getting some membership renewals.

There are currently approximately 60 members in good standing.

Merrimack College:
Brewster LaMacchia was only able to open Mendel one night (23rd) in October, Kevin & I had 8 guests..
Next event is a scout troop on the 11/4 (probably clouded out…) and whatever Wednesdays we can open.

Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich reported that Collins observatory was closed on October 7th and 14th and open on October 19th for Salem Alumni with 2 guests and on the 21st with 19 guests and closed the week of Halloween.

Star Party Committee:
Still no school requests, the EEE thing is still on everyone’s minds.

Telescope Clinic:
No Report

Old Business:
President Deneen described the current situation with moving the club website which will be by Club Express and he had sent out a preview for members to see what it will look like. He needs to get active email addresses from all members as the cost is per member.

New Business:

Entertainment for the evening was a presentation by club member Barry Yomtov entitled “NASA the Glory Years” a retrospective of the early years to the landings on the moon.

Meeting adjourned 9:15 PM.
