Minutes of the NSAAC Business Meeting September 6, 2019

President Deneen called the August Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:30 PM. There were 3 board members present and 8 club members. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

The minutes of the August business meeting were approved by acclamation.

No Report

There are currently approximately 60 members in good standing.

Merrimack College:
On Wednesday the 18th at Mendel open house we had the 20″ on Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune – it’s not that often that things work out like that (well OK, next year they’ll even be better for this event) and are on the must-see list.

Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich reported that Collins observatory is scheduled to open of the year on September 9th.

Star Party Committee:
Despite the generally lousy weather we were able to hold 4 events in August. Some pictures posted for two of them.

sep 20/21 – Trails and Sails/NSAAC annual star party (Battis farm Amesbury)
plus clear Wednesday nights as Merrimack and once school starts Mondays at Salem State.

Telescope Clinic:
No Report

Old Business:
President Deneen described the current situation with moving the club website which will be by Club Express. The new website should be up and running in about a month.

New Business:

Entertainment for the evening was a movie.

Meeting adjourned 9:09 PM.
