Minutes of the NSAAC Business Meeting June 7, 2019

President Deneen called the June Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:30 PM. There were 4 board members present and 9 club members. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

The minutes of the May business meeting were approved by acclamation.

No Report

There are currently approximately 60 members in good standing.

Merrimack College:
The observatory will be open through this coming summer.
Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich reported that Collins observatory is closed for the summer. There may be one open night at Collins during the summer

Star Party Committee:
Brewster LaMacchia reported that star party events have been booked through October:

Weds Jun 12: Newburyport Charter at Salisbury Beach (Mendel will be closed this Weds). 13th backup date (private event)

Mon Jul 1: Boxford Library (resched). (2nd as backup)

Mon July 8th : Hamilton Wenham library (9th as backup)


Thurs July 11th. Peabody Library (Danvers) @ Endicott park (Aug 8th backup date)

Thurs July 18th. Presentation at Andover Library https://mhl.org/

Tues Jul 23, APL field trip to Mendel (july 25 backup)

To be scheduled in August: Manchester Library, ifarm Boxford

Tues Sep 3rd Sagamore Hill (9/5 backup)

Fri Sep 20 and Sat Sep 21: Annual NSAAC Star Party weekend, Battis Farm, Amesbury

Old Business:
President Deneen described the current situation with the club website and indicated that paperwork for the new website is moving ahead
New Business:

Entertainment for the evening was club observing at the new park.

Meeting adjourned 8 PM.
