Minutes of the NSAAC Business Meeting May 3, 2019

President Deneen called the May Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:30 PM. There were 4 board members present and 9 club members. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

The minutes of the April business meeting were approved by acclamation.

No Report

There are currently approximately 60 members in good standing.

Merrimack College:
The observatory will be open through this coming summer.

Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich reported that Collins observatory was open on 1 April to 16 student guests, and again on 16 April, when 13 kids/parents participated. There may be one open night at Collins during the summer

Star Party Committee:
Brewster LaMacchia reported that star party events have been booked through October.

Telescope Clinic:
No Report

Old Business:
President Deneen described the current situation with the club website and asked for approval to spend $1,500 to move that site from its current location to a new, more user-friendly one. Following a motion to approve, the spending plan was approved by a show of hands.

New Business:

Entertainment for the evening was a presentation by John Gianforte of UNH on “The search for life in our solar system and beyond.”

Meeting adjourned 9:25 PM.
