President Deneen called the May Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:39 PM. There were 4 board members present and 6 club members. There were 4 guests. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

Minutes of the April business meeting were approved by acclamation.

Treasurer Sampson is still working on getting the books transferred from the outgoing treasurer Kevin Ackert. Once the books are transferred the treasurer will transfer the accounts to a new bank. Treasurer Sampson reported the enrollment of one new member and the reenlistment of another.

There are currently 103 members in good standing.

Merrimack College:
No one had any idea of activities at Merrimack or openings in the months ahead. Brewster LaMacchia volunteered to make inquires

Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich reported that the observatory was open three times in the past month with attendees number 14, 51, and (despite a hazy sky) 15. Monday May 8 will be the observatory’s last opening until school resumes in the fall.

Star Party Committee:
Upcoming star parties:

Tuesday May 30 (with a Tuesday backup date) at the Brookdale Farm in Epping NH.
June 13 – details to follow.

Telescope Clinic:
No report

Old Business:
The club still would like to find other volunteers to do star party presentations. If anyone is interested please contact Brewster LaMacchia. We are also looking for any members who would like to assist at Merrimack College Observatory.

New Business:
The Board has agreed to the purchase of a new digital projector, as the Club’s current one operates only intermittently. Treasurer Ron Sampson pointed out that because the cost exceeds $150, the bylaws require notice to Club members and their approval. President Deneen asked members to consider the situation and be prepared to vote on the matter at the June meeting.

The entertainment for the evening were presentations by club members Phil Orbanes and Barry Yomtov of their most recent fabulous astro photos. Thanks for all the great images.
Meeting adjourned 9:17 PM.
Respectively submitted
John Hobbs, Secretary NSAAC
