Minutes of the NSAAC Business Meeting March 4, 2016

President Burke called the March Business Meeting of the NSAAC to order at 7:30 PM. There were nine members present plus four board members. There was a quorum. Meeting was official.

Minutes of the January business meetings were approved by acclamation.

No report

There are currently 101 members in good standing.

Committee Reports:

Merrimack College:
Fred Sammartino opened the observatory one night in February with good attendance. The club still needs additional support people at the observatory. Anyone interested contact Kevin Ackert.

Salem University:
Dennis Gudzevich indicated that the observatory was open on the 22nd with 24 visitors and on the 29th with 41 visitors..

Star Party Committee:
No Report

Telescope Clinic:
No Activity

Old Business:
The club still would like to find other volunteers to do star party presentations. If anyone is interested please contact Brewster LaMacchia.

New Business:
Discussed briefly what observing sites the club wants to use in the coming year. This topic was tabled for discussion at the next board meeting.

The election of club officers was conducted by Vice-president Richard Leucke. The slate of candidates was:

President: Michael Deneen
Vice President: Richard Leucke
Treasurer: Ron Sampson
Secretary: John Hobbs
Membership Chairman: Ray Ferland
Member at Large: Bryan Stone
Member at Large: open

The slate of candidates was approved by acclamation.

Entertainment for the evening was a presentation by member John Hobbs who gave an engaging talk entitled “Some Old and New Astro Photos”.

Meeting adjourned 8:00 PM.
